The earlier part of the afternoon was spent converting a DC loco to DCC, Finally, small screws were retrieved from the floor and the loco was run down the track, with Malcolm experimenting with the available sound options.
On the bottom right, the results of last week’s experiment – laying down ballast and just off photo, an initial attempt to making the bright shiny rails look rusty.
At this scale, attention to detail is required; different colours of ballast are to be evaluated and attempts will be made to find faster ways to paint the rails rusty. Dare one suggest that the rails might only be painted on one side!
